The recently refurbished 39 Regent St Chippendale set the stage for the SAE Sydney campus with a $12 Million dollar make over turning the old rundown disused office space into a state of the art modern multimedia engineering facility.
SlabTec Pty Ltd was awarded the subcontract after assisting Partridge Partners and Farindon Constructions with the design from a concept stage to a buildable solution which proved to be a very cost effective and time efficient detail using the Sika Carbodur carbon fibre and crack repairs systems. In this situation 2,600 linear metres of Sika Carbodur S1214 was used with an additional 350 kits of Sika Injectokit TH resins for crack repair along with about 200kg of SikaDur 31/41 concrete epoxy repair mortars for areas of spalling and deteriorating concrete. .
In this situation SlabTec could only utilise a design that engaged the bottom of the slab to Level 5 given that there was an existing floor topping in place on the exposed roof slab. Also, the client wanted to avoid any systems for the top of slab that would require an ongoing maintenance programme for the long term protection of strengthening.
SlabTec is proud to have been a part of this project.
