SlabTec can provide a GPR Slab Scanning service for the location of Post-Tensioned (PT) tendons and Reinforcement. Our theory is ‘Scan First - Drill Later’. We use the latest in 2D / 3D detection equipment and given our expertise in Post-Tensioned slabs we pride ourselves on being able to identify the location of PT which saves the headache of rectification work should the PT cables be damaged through any core holing or demolition work. Should the worst happen and you ‘Drill first - worry about it later’ then we have systems to bring a quick and effective repair to the damaged PT slab. SlabTec’s approach was to utilise the Sika CarboDur system on both top and bottom of a slab awith all the top mounted CFRP needing to be recessed into the slab and covered in an extremely durable and hard wearing epoxy coating that could withstand the sustained hard wheel use of pallet jacks and forklifts. We also designed and constructed a 150mm fully bonded concrete slab to raise an area of the trading floor to match the existing areas. For this, a conventional reinforced slab was constructed and pinned into the existing slab.
